A former member of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Adefisoye, popularly known as Small Alhaji, has announced his resignation from the All Progressives Congress.
Adefisoye made the disclosure in a statement published on his Facebook account and sighted by Voice Air Media Correspondent on Wednesday evening, saying his decision was taken after consultations with his supporters.
According to the former lawmaker, his departure from the party was prompted by concerns over the inability of the APC to provide adequate channels for members to air and resolve their grievances.
He said, “I hereby formally resign my membership of the All Progressives Congress. This decision was based on my personal conviction and that of my supporters.”
Adefisoye, however, said his decision to leave the APC should not be interpreted as a withdrawal of his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“I remain committed to the success of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and I will always be available to support and work towards his success,” he stated.
The former lawmaker further disclosed that he had directed that his name and other membership details be deleted from the party’s register.
Adefisoye, who represented Idanre and Ifedore Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, added that his resignation had occurred earlier but was only being made public to formally put the development on record.
