THE daughter of veteran Yoruba actor, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has debunked reports claiming that the 66-year-old actor has died.
The death rumour circulated on social media on Tuesday after a Facebook user claimed that one of the actor’s daughters, Haleemah Taiwo, had announced his death.
The user in a Facebook post, wrote, “Haleemah Taiwo just posted that her father, Mr. Hassan Taiwo, has passed away after being rejected by different hospitals. He is survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren. May his soul rest… He’s finally gone.”
However, one of Ogogo’s daughters, Lima Taiwo, dismissed the report as false, urging members of the public to stop spreading the claim.
Reacting on Instagram, she wrote, “This is false!!!!!!! This is false!!!!! This is false!!!!! This is false!!! THIS IS FAKE… PLEASE STOP SPREADING FAKE NEWS.”
The clarification came a day after Lima and her sister, Kira Taiwo, made separate emotional appeals for help for their father, who is battling cancer.
In a video shared on Instagram on Monday, Lima disclosed that the actor’s condition had deteriorated and alleged that some hospitals had declined to continue treating him.
