THE leadership of the Action Peoples Party (APP) in Osun State on Monday, August 10, 2026, convened a one-day interdenominational prayer service to seek divine intervention for a peaceful, Violence-free electoral process ahead of the critical 15 August 2026 election. Faith leaders and party members from across the state joined in solemn prayer and a united commitment to protect the integrity of the ballot.
Hon. Odesola Oluseye, the Osun State Chairman of APP said the gathering was a necessary expression of faith and civic responsibility ” We prayed for peace, protection and the safe participation of every voters in Osun” Hon. Oluseye said ” We call on our members and all citizens of Osun to come out in their numbers on 15 August 2026 to cast their votes and to stand ready — lawfully and peacefully — to protect those votes.The continuity of the good work of this present administration depends on our participation and vigilance at the polling booths”
Mr Banji Adesuyi, the APP Governorship candidate, echoed the call for unity and non-violence “Democracy is defended most powerfully at the ballot box” Mr Adesuyi said, We urge, and ensure that the mandate of the people is respected. Let us reject intimidation and violence, affirm the rule of law, and work together so that the progress we have made can continue for the benefit of every family in Osun”
The APP Leadership used the occasion to appeal to security agencies, electoral body, and all political actors to guarantee free, fair and peaceful voting. The party affirmed it’s commitment to constructive engagement, lawful civic action, and the protection of democratic processes.
The Action Peoples Party calls on all residents of Osun — regardless of party affiliation to join in ensuring a calm and orderly election day ; come out to vote, report threats to the appropriate authorities, and conduct themselves with respect for fellow citizens and institutions.
