Shining Example of Professionalism, OOPA Hails Veteran Journalist Idowu Akintunde on Birthday

THE Osun Online Publishers Association (OOPA) has extended warm congratulations to veteran journalist and respected media personality, Mr. Idowu Akintunde, on the occasion of his birthday, describing him as a distinguished professional whose remarkable contributions have continued to shape journalism and inspire generations.

In a statement jointly signed by the Chairman of OOPA, Abioye Tosin Lawrence, and the Association’s Public Relations Officer, Babatunde Raji (APS), the leadership praised Akintunde as an experienced media icon whose wisdom, integrity, and dedication have earned him widespread respect within and beyond the journalism profession.

The Association described the celebrant as “a boat paddler who has weathered the waves of the sea,” noting that his decades of experience have provided a solid template for younger journalists and media practitioners to emulate in the pursuit of excellence and purposeful journalism.

According to the statement, Mr. Akintunde has consistently played the role of a bridge-builder and peacemaker within the media community, fostering unity, fairness, and mutual understanding among publishers and journalists.

“If there were ever a journalistic arbiter, Mr. Idowu Akintunde embodies that role. His calm disposition, sense of fairness, and commitment to justice have made him a respected mediator whose leadership continues to strengthen harmony within the publishing community,” the statement read.

The leadership further commended his enduring impact on the profession, saying his contributions have planted seeds that will continue to bear fruit for generations of journalists yet to come.

“As you mark another blissful year, we celebrate your invaluable service to journalism and humanity. Your legacy of professionalism, mentorship, and selfless commitment remains a source of inspiration to many. We pray that Almighty God grants you sound health, greater fulfillment, and many more years of impactful service,” the statement added.

On behalf of members of the Osun Online Publishers Association, the leadership wished Mr. Akintunde a joyful birthday and continued success in all his endeavors.
