2027: Adamawa Elders Council Lauds Tinubu for Retaining Shettima, Cites Stability and Continuity

THE Adamawa Progressive Elders Council has officially thrown its weight behind the retention of Vice President Kashim Shettima as the running mate to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election.

In a statement released on July 17, 2026, the Council, led by Brig-Gen. M.B. Marwa (Rtd), lauded President Tinubu’s decision to maintain the current joint ticket, describing it as a “strategic” move that guarantees stability and continuity for the “Renewed Hope Agenda.” The endorsement comes amidst a broader political consolidation within the All Progressives Congress (APC), effectively silencing months of speculation regarding a potential change in the Vice Presidential slot.

Speaking on behalf of the Council, Head of Media and Publicity, Ahmad I. Sajoh, fnipr, emphasized that Vice President Shettima’s contribution to the administration has been vital. “This strategic decision by the President, Commander-in-Chief, is a testament to Vice President Shettima’s unwavering loyalty, exceptional administrative capacity, and the immense political value he continues to bring to this joint ticket,” the statement read.
