Osun: OOPA to Host Funmiso Babarinde at Media Parley Tuesday

News Update

THE Osun Online Publishers Association (OOPA) has announced plans to host the 11th edition of its Media Parley, focusing on political developments, governance, and representation ahead of the forthcoming Osun governorship election.

In a statement signed by the Chairman of the association, Abioye Tosin Lawrence, the event is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at the OOPA Secretariat by 1:30 p.m.

According to the statement, the parley will be held under the theme, “Exploring Politics, Governance and Representation Ahead of Osun Election,” and is expected to provide a platform for discussions on issues shaping the state’s political landscape as stakeholders prepare for the next electoral cycle.

The association disclosed that Hon. Funmiso Babarinde, the Senior Special Assistant on Renewable Energy and Chairman of the Civil Society Matters Committee of the Imole Campaign Council 2026, will serve as the guest speaker at the event.

Babarinde, who previously served as Executive Assistant on Student Affairs during the administration of former Osun State Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, is expected to share insights on governance, political participation, representation, and the role of stakeholders in strengthening democratic processes in the state.

The statement noted that the parley forms part of OOPA’s commitment to promoting informed public discourse and fostering engagement between political actors, policymakers, the media, and the public.

It added that the programme will be livestreamed on the OOPA Facebook page (https://web.facebook.com/events/3158002084390779/) to enable wider participation by members of the public and interested stakeholders who may be unable to attend physically.
