-As Kafayat Oyetola Advocates Peaceful Election

The Hausa community in Osun State has endorsed the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election.

The endorsement was made on Thursday during a meeting held in Sabo, Osogbo, the Osun State capital, where leaders of the Hausa community pledged their support for the APC candidate and assured party leaders that Hausa communities across the state would work tirelessly to ensure Oyebamiji’s victory at the polls.

The gathering, facilitated by the former First Lady of Osun State and wife of the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alhaja Kafayat Oyetola, was attended by 35 Sarkin Hausas from across the three senatorial districts of the state.

Speaking on behalf of the Hausa community, the Sarkin Hausa of Osun State, Alhaji Muhammad Lawal Gomina, said the community was convinced of Oyebamiji’s competence, antecedents, and manifesto, describing him as the most suitable candidate for the governorship position.

Also speaking, the Sarkin Hausa of Ifon-Orolu, who represented other Hausa traditional leaders, lamented the alleged neglect of the Hausa community in terms of political appointments, employment opportunities, and social amenities. He urged the APC governorship candidate to address the situation if elected governor.

According to him, the Hausa community possesses qualified and educated individuals capable of serving the state in various capacities. He appealed for representation in the state cabinet and increased employment opportunities for Hausa youths.

She said: “I am here today to thank you for your support for our administration when my husband served as governor. Even after we left office, you never abandoned us. This gesture has become a strong motivation for us to do more for the state and the Hausa community.

“I am here today with the wife of the incoming governor, by God’s grace, Dr. Sekinat Oyebamiji, and the wife of the incoming deputy governor, Princess Abimbola Adereti, to appreciate the entire Hausa community in Osun State and seek your support for Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji. He is a man who has demonstrated honesty, capacity, and integrity in leadership.”

Highlighting Oyebamiji’s achievements, Oyetola said he had consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership in every position he had occupied.

“When he served at OSICOL, he transformed a nearly moribund state investment company into a valuable asset for the state. As Commissioner for Finance, Osun witnessed unprecedented prudence and accountability in public finance, while state revenue increased without placing unnecessary burdens on citizens.

“As Managing Director of NIWA, stakeholders in the marine sector did not want him to leave because of the remarkable transformation he brought to the agency. However, the leadership of our party believes he is the best person to lead Osun State to greater prosperity, and I strongly believe he will not disappoint you,” she said.
