Don’t run abroad, Tinubu counsels Nigerian youths

•The Nigeria Immigration Service recently disclosed that over 3.6 million Nigerians migrated to other countries within two years.

President Bola Tinubu has appealed to young Nigerians to stop leaving the country in search of greener pastures abroad.

Mr Tinubu said this in his Democracy Day address, urging them to commit their talents, innovation and energy to building a stronger and more vibrant country.

“To our young people: Nigeria is your home and your future. Build here, code here, work here, and vote here,” the president stated.

While urging Nigerians to channel their energy into developing their country, Mr Tinubu stressed that the world’s most successful nations were built by citizens who chose to confront challenges and create solutions.

“Every great nation was built by those who stayed to solve problems, not by those who abandoned ship,” he added.

Mr Tinubu’s appeal came amid the exodus of young Nigerians leaving the country in search of better opportunities abroad.

Experts noted that the migration of young, vibrant Nigerians, especially healthcare professionals, to countries including the United Kingdom, Canada, the United States and Saudi Arabia, left hospitals understaffed and patients struggling to access quality medical care nationwide.
