News Update
Lawmaker representing Obio/Akpor Federal Constituency in Rivers State at the House of Representatives, Kingsley Chinda has resigned from his position as Minority Leader of the House.
He has also dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, read Chinda’s letter on the floor of the Green Chamber during plenary, formally informing lawmakers of the defection.
Chinda, who represented the opposition bloc in the House, had occupied the position as a member of the PDP before deciding to join the ruling APC.
Chinda is a known ally of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and recently emerged as the APC governorship candidate for the 2027 Rivers State governorship election.
