Ekiti South Federal Constituency II Moves to Form Coalition Against Femi Bamisile, Considers NDC as Alternative

Political stakeholders, youths and concerned leaders across Ekiti South Federal Constituency II have rejected the outcome of the APC House of Representatives primary election held yesterday, accusing the exercise of being deliberately engineered to impose Femi Bamisile as the party’s candidate.

The coalition described the process as a carefully arranged political outcome rather than a genuine primary election, alleging that it was structured to produce a predetermined winner. They further claimed that genuine delegates were sidelined, while participation was selectively managed to favour a fixed result.

According to the stakeholders, the exercise lacked any credible democratic standard, with no transparent accreditation process, no independently verifiable voting record and no ward-by-ward or local government breakdown capable of justifying the announced figures.

They dismissed the claim that over 4,000 votes were recorded for Bamisile, insisting that the figure is not supported by any observable evidence from across the constituency and appears to have been manufactured to legitimize an imposed outcome.

The group maintained that the declared result does not reflect the political reality on ground, stressing that it is widely rejected across party structures and grassroots stakeholders within Ekiti South Federal Constituency II.

In reaction to the disputed primary, the coalition confirmed that consultations are already ongoing toward a broader political realignment aimed at resisting what they described as an imposed candidacy ahead of the general election.

As part of this emerging realignment, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) is being strongly considered as an alternative political platform. The stakeholders warned that if the situation is not urgently addressed, the movement could take a decisive political direction, adding that “if care is not taken, the NDC will start from Ekiti South Federal Constituency II” as a grassroots alternative driven by widespread dissatisfaction.

The stakeholders issued a 48-hour ultimatum to the APC leadership to urgently address the concerns surrounding the primary election, warning that failure to act within the timeframe would trigger serious political consequences, including the formalization of a broad coalition against the party’s structure in the constituency.

They stressed that the constituency cannot continue under what they described as a captured internal party process, warning that continued disregard for internal democracy will inevitably lead to political realignment and loss of trust in the APC structure.

The stakeholders concluded by insisting that unless the party leadership reviews and addresses the alleged irregularities in the primary, Ekiti South Federal Constituency II may witness a significant political shift ahead of the 2027 elections, driven by a coordinated rejection of the current process.
