A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has sentenced former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, to 75 years in prison over fraud linked to about ₦33.8 billion.
The court found him guilty after hearing a case filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The charges were tied to funds meant for major power projects, including the Mambilla and Zungeru hydroelectric projects.
He was accused of diverting and laundering public money while serving as minister between 2019 and 2021. The EFCC presented witnesses and documents during the trial to support its case.
After reviewing the evidence, the court ruled that the prosecution proved the case beyond reasonable doubt and delivered the prison sentence.
