Osun agency steps up surveillance, vows to prosecute billboard vandals

THE Osun State Signage, Hoarding and Advertisement Agency, O’Signage, has strongly condemned the vandalisation of billboards and banners by suspected political thugs across Osun State.

The Accord has, in a statement on Friday, raised alarm over destruction of the billboards of Governor Ademola Adeleke and those of other candidates across Osogbo and other parts of the state.

Reacting to the development, management of O’Signage described the act as barbaric, unethical and hugely illegal, vowing that he’s ready to deal with anyone caught in the act in legal way.

The action of destroying billboards is highly barbaric and will never be condoned. As an agency in charge of the Signage, we will not look akimbo while this illegal act continues. We shall be prosecuting anyone caught in the act” a statement by O’Signage Consultant, Muyiwa Olafajo on Sunday said.

“We will also be increasing surveillance on the billboards across the state to ensure these vandals are caught as soon as possible.”

O’Signage added that the act has a serious negative impact on the economic growth of the state.

“The act of vandalism has serious negative impacts on the economy as it sends wrong signals to investors. But we’re assuring everyone that this will be dealt with and anyone caught shall be brought to justice,” Olafajo said.
