Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have arrested a 25-year-old woman, Nafisa Usman, for allegedly supplying ammunition to bandits, recovering over 200 rounds of ammunition from her during the operation.
The suspect was reportedly intercepted on Wednesday at a motor park in Kano while transporting the ammunition from Lafia, Nasarawa State, to Kankara in Katsina State.
The consignment was believed to be intended for bandit groups operating within the forest areas of the North-West.

According to AIT, security sources disclosed that “the arrest followed actionable intelligence, which enabled operatives to disrupt the supply chain before the delivery could be completed.”
During interrogation, Usman allegedly confessed that she had been involved in the illicit trade for about two months.
She reportedly revealed that the ammunition was supplied by an individual identified as “Teso,” who is said to be working in collaboration with a soldier based in Lafia.
The suspect also disclosed that she had facilitated transactions worth about N5 million, supplying ammunition to several individuals, including a bandit leader identified as Mallam Haruna.
