3 APC youth leaders die in auto crash en-route party congress

Three youth leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State have lost their lives in a tragic motor accident while travelling to Lafia, Nasarawa State, to attend the party’s North Central Zonal Congress.

The victims have been identified as Hon. Anawo Benjamin of Orokam Ward 3, Hon. Ogbe Enemari of Ai-oono Ward 3, and Hon. Abraham Enenche of Olachagbaha Ward.

They died at the scene of the crash, while several other members of the delegation sustained varying degrees of injuries and are currently receiving treatment.

The fatal incident occurred along the Makurdi–Lafia road on Wednesday, cutting short the lives of the young party leaders who were said to be on official party duty.

Reacting to the development, the 2023 APC Benue South Senatorial candidate, Comrade Daniel Onjeh, expressed deep sorrow over the loss, describing it as a heartbreaking tragedy.

He noted that the deceased were committed grassroots politicians whose dedication and loyalty contributed significantly to the growth of the party.

Onjeh extended his condolences to the bereaved families and the APC family in Ogbadibo and Benue State, praying that God grants them the strength to bear the painful loss.

He also called for unity among party members during the difficult period and offered prayers for the speedy recovery of those injured.

Similarly, the Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District and Senate Minority Leader, Comrade Abba Moro, described the incident as traumatic and devastating, especially given that multiple lives were lost from the same local government area at once.

He sympathised with the people of Ogbadibo, as well as the families, friends, and political associates of the deceased, praying for the repose of their souls and for divine comfort for those left behind.

The senator also wished the injured a quick recovery.
