THE African Democratic Congress (ADC) has given fresh assurances that the process leading to the emergence of its 2027 presidential candidate would be transparent and credible.
The assurance was given on Monday by the ADC Assistant National Chairman, Usani Usani, during an interview with Arise News.
He also disclosed that three people have already shown interest in emerging as the ADC presidential candidate for the 2027 polls.
The names he mentioned during the interview are former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, and former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar.
“We are awaiting a formal process. Currently, we have three people who have indicated interest in the presidential race: Peter Obi, Rotimi Amaechi, and Atiku Abubakar.
“I guarantee that the ADC will provide a candidate based on openness, transparency, and truth”, he stated.
On the issue of zoning the party’s presidential ticket, the ADC Assistant National Chairman said it is premature for him to make comments on the issue as there is a manifesto, policy and constitution review committee still working on such issues.

He assured that the official position of the party on zoning would be made known once the committee’s task is complete.
“We have policy, manifesto, and constitution review committees at work. It would be premature for me to comment ahead of their findings. The ADC aims to reflect the common opinion of the people to remain democratic. While I have personal opinions, as a party official, I must wait for the party’s official position,” he explained.
