…Cleric Preaches Generosity, Obedience
…As Beneficiaries Shower Encomiums
An Osogbo-born successful young entrepreneur and astute politician, Hon. Abdullahi Ayodeji Olaiya popularly called AYONIC has doled out cash gifts and distributed food items to thousands of his constituency as part of his resolve to continuously put smile to the faces of the people most importantly during the Ramadan period.
Olaiya said the gesture was in fulfillment of his avowed commitment to make every soul happy regardless of faith, status, tribe and sociocultural affiliations.
The Islamic cleric admonished Muslim Ummah to rededicate themselves to the way of Allah, obey His commandments and spend their God’s given resources to advance human cause and propagation of Islam.
This is even as the beneficiaries extolled and showered encomiums on Olaiya for his outstanding generosity, consistency and kind-heartedness towards Islamic propaganda and advancement of humanity’s cause.
Hon. Olaiya’s innate philanthropic gesture and inimitable humanity spirit stood him out as countless people of Osogbo and beyond particularly youths had benefitted largely from his benevolence event before he shows interest in politics.
Speaking to journalists on phone shortly after the 2026 Annual Ramadan Lecture, held within the premises of AYONIC Petroleum Station, Osogbo, Hon. Olaiya noted that the programme was conceptualized as part of efforts to strengthen the existing ties of unity, love and brotherhood.
“This is a strong conviction to the Will and Commandment of Allah. I am for humanity and the welfare and general well-being of my constituents remain my priority. No doubt, i am a product of divine grace, l love my people and their wellness is of my topmost concern. This is an annual event and we have been very consistent since we introduced it. I believe so much in advancing the cause of humanity because i know that whatever position anyone is, it is just by His grace not by anything hence my resolve to always put smile to the people. I believe so much in empowering our people that is why I had committed to it. To me, when our people are empowered, particularly when youths are empowered and productive, that is when we can collectively build a society of our dream.
“Aside this, these gifts are dedicated to advance the cause of our gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the forthcoming governorship election in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji popularly called AMBO.
“As we all know, Osun is at a critical moment – we are approaching election period to elect a new Governor that will administer our dear state for another four year and the only person with unblemished trackrecords and incontrovertible imprints is APC gubernatorial candidate. He is fully prepared for the job and ready to take our dear state to enviable heights.
“As for us, we have done a lot of empowerments, we have been supporting our people through different initiatives and interventions. We shall continue to support our people promptly and timely in line with our resolve to ensure that no soul suffers or sorrows”, Hon. Olaiya added.
Delivering his lecture titled; “The Role of Good Governance in Islamic Constitution and System,” an Islamic cleric, Ustaz Ridwanullah Opeyemi called for purity, piousness and obedience emphasised that Ramadan teaches fear of Allah, generosity and devotion.
The Guest Lecturer urged the people particularly well meaning citizens and privileged individuals in the state and beyond to always give back to the society, most especially, during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
“If I have, I should be able to give to those who do not have. That is the meaning of fearing Almighty Allah. We must fast, observe our prayers and do everything to seek Allah’s reward, not people’s reward. Almighty Allah commanded those that have enough to always remember the needy, most especially during this month,” he said.
Speaking about the successes made through the annual get-together Ramadan Lecture, Ustaz Opeyemi said the initiative began about six years ago as a response to the hardship many people experience during Ramadan.
“We initiated this about six years ago. Before politics came in, Hon. Olaiya had been supporting people in different ways helping them to secure jobs, sponsoring scholarships and encouraging them on how to be enterprising and productive so as to be useful for themselves, families and the society at large.
“I want to believe that Hon. Olaiya conceived this initiative to invest and impact more in humanity. The idea of food distribution and cash gifts during Ramadan is a child of necessity to directly support the needy.
“Some people used to be very hungry during Ramadan no doubt, and as such, we felt that even if we cannot curb all the hunger in the state, we should at least try to reduce it as much as we can and to the glory of Almighty Allah the programme has grown significantly over the years”, the cleric stated.
Earlier, Alhaji Kazeem Abolore Moshood described the outreach as a yearly programme aimed at appreciating Allah and assisting the needy.
“This is an annual Ramadan programme organised by our brother. Seeing is believing and on the average, at least 1000 to 2000 people or more will benefit from this programme.
“This has been his act even before he had the intention of contesting for anything. If I am not mistaken, this is about the sixth edition,” he added.
Also, Hon. Oyeladun Ibrahim said the gathering focused on spiritual reflection and act of giving during the Holy Month.
“This programme is focused on spiritual reflection and act of giving hence the need for the people of this constituency to support their own- AYONIC in his resolve to run for the Osogbo State Constituency in the Osun State House of Assembly”, he added.
Similarly, Hon. Ibrahim Taofeeq Kayode popularly called (ITK) an aspirant for House of Representatives in Osogbo Federal Constituency, urged youths to emulate charitable gestures as exemplified by Hon. Olaiya.
“It has been a tradition, and we urge youths like us to keep doing this because it is an inspiration for all of us,” he said.
He advised that the programme should be sustained beyond politics.
“It should not be because of politics. He (Olaiya) should continue doing this, and God will continue to replenish him to do more,” Kayode added.
Expressing their joys, the beneficiaries appreciated the kind gesture, noting that the support would ease the burden of feeding during the fasting period.
