The dreams of Ondo State’s founding fathers at inception in 1976 have been realised and exceeded after five decades. The state is also regarded as a sunshine in different sectors of the economy.
An Ondo state indigene from Idanre local government and Voice Air Media Nigeria’s Publisher, Tunde Bright OlorunGbotemi stated this on Thursday at cyberspace during the launch of a ’50-hours – Free – publication’ challenge to commemorate the State’s Golden Jubilee Anniversary in February 2026.

OlorunGbotemi, who is also the convener of Voice For Democracy And Good Governance said, Citizens of Ondo State have recorded great feats and accomplishments in all spheres of life including: education, civil service, politics, business, industry, agriculture, entertainment, arts and culture, tourism and sports, hence the need to celebrate.
The convener and members of his team said, they are open to collaboration while calling on leaders and all stakeholders within and outside the state to join in the countdown as they commence a 50-hours engagement, showcasing the Ondo State’s icons and chronicling its numerous sectoral achievements in the past fifty years.

The Organisers have, however, hinged the 50-hours challenge on free content, publication, engagement and public enlightenment for the large audience and general public pro-bono, tagged ‘FREE PR 50 HOURS’, comprising greetings, felicitations, articles, congratulatory messages, stories and publications of any related story to celebrate the sunshine state, government and the people.
