The Niger State police command has arrested a 30-year-old dismissed police officer, Haruna Haggai, for allegedly impersonating security personnel, snatching motorcycles, and extorting residents in Minna.
Haggai was apprehended on January 16, 2026, at about 10pm at his residence in Sauka-Kahuta by operatives of the Force Intelligence Department and the Special Tactical Squad, following intelligence reports and a complaint from one of his victims.
Disclosing this to newsmen, the spokesperson of the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, said the suspect posed as a police officer on January 14, 2026, along Kpakungu Road, where he intercepted a Jincheng motorcycle rider, intimidated him, and forcefully took the motorcycle.
