News Update
THE governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for the 2026 Osun State election, Mr. Mustapha Adeniyi, has declared that he possesses the competence, vision, and capacity needed to rescue the state from what he described as years of mismanagement under the current administration.
Speaking with journalists on Tuesday, Adeniyi expressed confidence in his ability to reposition Osun State through strategic leadership and inclusive governance. He said his decision to contest the August 8, 2026 governorship election was driven by a genuine desire to restore hope, accountability, and effective service delivery to the people of the state.
According to the SDP candidate, he has carefully mapped out practical strategies aimed at bringing good governance directly to the doorstep of every citizen, with policies focused on economic revitalisation, infrastructure development, job creation, and social welfare.
“The people of Osun are not happy with the current state of affairs,” Adeniyi said. “They deserve a leadership that listens, plans, and delivers. Osun needs a capable hand to rescue it from mismanagement, and I firmly believe I am the right man for the job — a round peg in a round hole.”
He emphasised that the 2026 election represents a critical turning point for the state, urging residents to take advantage of the opportunity to effect change through the ballot.
Adeniyi called on voters across Osun State to support the SDP and cast their votes for him on August 8, 2026, describing the election as a chance for the people to reclaim their future and chart a new course for sustainable development.
“This election is about the people’s voice,” he added. “Together, we can rescue Osun and build a state that works for everyone.”
