Oyebamiji mourns Owa of Igbajo, Oba Philip Adegboyega Famodun, Orders stepdown of all AMBO activities

A leading gubernatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the forthcoming governorship election in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of the revered traditional ruler, late Owa of Igbajo, Oba Philip Adegbogbega Famodun III.

Oyebamiji condoled the deceased’s immediate family, Igbajo royal family, Osun Council of Obas and members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state in particular and Nigeria in general.

Oyebamiji, in a statement personally signed, ordered immediate stepdown of all the lineup activities of AMBO Movement in honour of the late monarch.

AMBO specifically expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, APC National Leader, Chief Adebisi Akande, foremost educationist, Prof. Olu Aina, Marine and Blue Economy Minister and APC overall leader in Osun, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola, former Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewale among others for their swift response to save the monarch till he breathed his last.

Prior to his coronation and installation as Owa of Igbajo, Late Oba Famodun was the State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and former State Secretary of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN.

The revered monarch passed away on Friday after a brief illness but the news of his death was officially announced on Sunday by his family — Gbeleru Royal Family of Igbajo.

Oyebamiji described the death of the revered monarch as a collosal loss to all and sundry.

“I received the news of the death of our revered Kabiyesi and elder statesman, Late Owa of Igbajo, Oba Philip Adegboyega Famodun with a rude shock. Kabiyesi was an epitome of royalty, discipline, character, integrity dignity and religiosity who served his Creator and humanity with topmost sincerity and piousness.

“As a thoroughbred professional, politician and custodian of Yoruba culture, tradition and heritage, his monumental achievements can not be quantified. It is on record that his reign witnessed astronomical progresses and impacted greatly in the lives of his subjects in particular and humanity in general as his legacies continue to live on. Kabiyesi will definitely be remembered for his peaceful nature, exceptional wisdom and tireless efforts in promoting community development and advancing human’s cause.

“In honour of his death, all AMBO Movement activities should be put on hold henceforth, as we mourn the passing of our revered Kabiyesi. On behalf of my family and the entire AMBO Movement, I condole the bereaved family, traditional rulers under the aegis of Osun State Council of Obas, leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress APC in Osun, Nigeria and beyond on the demise of Oba Famodun.

“I pray God Almighty console and grant the family the fortitude and strength to bear the irreplaceable loss”, Oyebamiji prayed.
