Security forces, including additional police units, military personnel, and vigilante groups, were deployed to respond to the crisis.

President Tinubu expressed deep sadness over the abduction and also mourned the recent deaths of soldiers, including Brigadier General Musa Uba, who were killed fighting insurgents in Borno State.

He criticized the security breach that allowed the attack to happen despite intelligence warnings, while acknowledging the efforts of Governor Mohammed Nasir Idris to prevent such incidents.
