RCCG Founder’s Son Dies After Prayer Walk

News Update

Pastor Ifeoluwa Akindayomi, the youngest child of the late founder of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pa Josiah Akindayomi, has died at the age of 63.

According to Church Times, he passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025, about 45 years after his father’s death and a few months after the passing of his elder brother, Pastor Kolade Akindayomi, who died in May.

His death came as a shock to his family and friends.

According to those close to him, Pastor Ifeoluwa had been in good health and even served as chairman at a wedding ceremony just a day before his death.

It was gathered that he went for a prayer walk on Sunday morning at the RCCG Camp in Ogun State, returned home, and while preparing for church service, accidentally missed his step, fell, and hit his head on a sharp object.

Efforts to rush him to the hospital failed as he passed away before help could arrive.

Until his death, he served as the assistant provincial pastor of Ogun Province 5 of the RCCG and also managed a thriving printing business.

Family sources revealed that his wife and children, who live in Canada, had long encouraged him to relocate abroad, but he chose to remain in Nigeria to focus on his business and church duties.

He was reportedly in the process of joining his family after securing permanent residency in Canada before his sudden death.
