Governor Monday Okpebholo has expanded Edo State’s cabinet by creating ten new ministries, bringing the total number of ministries to 28.
He also sacked the commissioner of justice and attorney general of the state, Samson Osagie.
The Secretary to the State Government, Barr. Umar Ikhilor, explained that the move was aimed at aligning the state’s SHINE Agenda with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The restructuring also revived some defunct ministries to mirror the federal government’s structure and improve efficiency and coordination in Edo State’s administration.
The commissioners and their ministries include;
Dr. Felix Ehiguese Akhabue for Works, Hon. Andrew Ijegbai for Mining, Prince Kassom Afegbua for Information and Strategy, Hon. Paul Ohonbamu for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Omoh Anabor for Business, Trade and Investment, and Barr. Usenbo Ehigie for Power.
Other appointments are; Dr. Jerry Uwangue for Agriculture and Food Security, Prof. Omorodion Ikponwosa for Livestock Development, Barr. Nosa Adams for Environment and Sustainability, Dr. Cyril Oshiomhole for Health, Dr. Emmanuel Iyamu for Education, Dr. Lucky Eseigbe for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Hon. Yakubu Musa for Lands and Housing, Ohimai Ehijimetor for Communications and Digital Economy, Hon. Etin-Osa Ogbeiwi for Science and Technology, Dr. Washington Osifo for Water Resources and Sanitation, Hon. Charity Amayaenvbo for Youth Affairs, Eugenia Abdallah for Women Affairs, Barr. Marie Idaomi for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Barr. Vincent Uwadiae for Oil and Gas Resources, Engr. Emmanuel Okoebor for Finance, Dr. Elizabeth Ebosele for Budget and Economic Planning, Hon. Saturday Idehen for Transportation, Godwin Eshieshi for Labour and Productivity, Hon. Barr.
