Ekiti state Governor Biodun Oyebanji has presented a N415.5 billion budget estimate for the 2026 fiscal year, comprising N221.8 billion for recurrent expenditure and N193.7 billion for capital expenditure.
Oyebanji Commends Assembly, Pledges Fiscal Discipline
In his address, Governor Biodun Oyebanji commended the lawmakers for their partnership and commitment to the Ekiti Project, describing them as “formidable hands in the quest for sustainable development.”
He explained that the 2026 Budget was designed to advance the administration’s Shared Prosperity Agenda, focusing on youth engagement, job creation, investment promotion, agriculture, infrastructure, and security of lives and property.
Oyebanji also reiterated his administration’s commitment to fiscal discipline and responsible governance, noting that Ekiti had earned five consecutive top rankings from civic organisation BudgIT for transparency in public finance management.
“Our budget process remains rooted in broad-based citizen engagement, and our consistent recognition in transparency rankings reflects our determination to remain accountable to the people,” he said.
