President Bola Tinubu has departed Abuja for Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, to attend the coronation of the new Olubadan of Ibadanland, Rashidi Ladoja.
The President took off at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at approximately 12:45 pm on Friday.
In Ibadan, Tinubu will lead other dignitaries to witness the final installation of the monarch at the historic Ma
Ladoja, a former governor of Oyo State, emerged as the 44th Olubadan following the demise of Oba Owolabi Olakulehin on July 7, 2025.
It was reports that the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, former governors, serving senators, House of Representatives members, traditional rulers and notable personalities are currently in Ibadan to witness the coronation of the Olubadan of Ibadanland.
Some of the notable personalities at the event apart from the Sultan are former governors of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel and Ibikunle Amosun, and their counterpart from Kano, Rabiu Musa Kwankwanso,
Traditional rulers from major cities, towns and villages in Yorubaland and other parts of the country were not left out.
Prominent among them are the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade; Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi; Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Afolabi Olaoye; and Timi of Ede, Oba Munirudeen Lawal.
Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Adebayo Lawal, Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli (Oyo South) Yunus Akintunde (Oyo Central), and House of Representatives members including Akin Alabi and Olamiju Alao-Akala are also at the event.
