THE Western Nigeria Security Network, Amotekun Corps, Osun Command, on Monday, said it had apprehended six suspects over alleged various offenses in parts of the state.
A statement by the Command’s spokesperson, Mr Yusuf Abass in Osogbo, said that some of the suspects were caught in the act of committing the crimes while others were based on credible intelligence given to the corps.
He also stated that coordinated operations in response to multiple distress calls from residents of the state led to the arrest of some of the suspects.
“One Monsuru Moshood, 35, was caught in the act of stealing electrical cables in an uncompleted building and confessed that the wires have been sold at N10,000, despite the wires being valued at over N350,000.
“Also, a 21-year-old Oladare Yusuf was also arrested for alleged theft of cocoa from a farm in Apara village.
“The corps arrested one Olamide Olowo, 39, from Okinni, who was accused of making fake mobile money transfers to foodstuff sellers in Osogbo, “the spokesperson said.
Abass said that operatives of the corps also arrested one Hamzat Mukaila, 45, and Tobi Omoranti, 30, in Ita-Olokan area of Osogbo while attempting to break into a shop.
He praised the vigilance and dedication of the operatives for swift response and successful arrests.
According to Abass, the suspects will soon be arraigned in court after the conclusion of investigations.
