IGOGO Festival: Aiyedatiwa’s Administration Committed To Cultural Renaissance – Commissioner Afolabi

THE Honourable Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Afolabi Adesoji, has reaffirmed the commitment of the Ondo State Government under the leadership of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa to the revival and promotion of culture in the Sunshine State.

Speaking at the 2025 Igogo Festival in Owo Kingdom on Sunday, the Commissioner joined His Excellency, Governor Aiyedatiwa, who was ably represented by his Deputy, His Excellency, Dr. Olayide Adelami, mni, at the colourful celebrations hosted by His Imperial Majesty, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III, the Olowo of Owo and Paramount Ruler of Owo Kingdom.

Governor Aiyedatiwa, in his address delivered by the Deputy Governor, noted that the State Government’s decision to officially partner with Owo Kingdom on the Igogo Festival stems from the recognition that the festival showcases the rich cultural heritage of Ondo State and provides a unique platform for tourism development.

While fielding questions from newsmen, Hon. Afolabi praised the Governor for his unwavering spirit towards cultural renaissance, noting that the Igogo Festival is among the five major festivals to be sponsored annually by the State Government. He stressed that the Ministry of Culture and Tourism is experiencing a great rebirth under the visionary leadership of the Governor.

The Commissioner congratulated His Imperial Majesty, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III, and the entire sons and daughters of Owo Kingdom on this year’s celebration of the Igogo Festival, assuring that with the support of the State Government, subsequent editions will be even more glamorous.
