Kano APC defects to NNPP, Deputy Governor welcomes them

Deputy Governor of Kano State, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, has officially welcomed a group of All Progressives Congress (APC) members who defected to the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), describing the move as a significant boost to the party’s strength, unity, and growing influence across the state.

The defectors, led by Malam Bala Ladani Gwarzo, announced their decision on Sunday at the Deputy Governor’s office.

In a statement issued by the Deputy Governor’s spokesperson, Ibrahim Garba Shuaibu, the new members explained that their decision was inspired by the remarkable achievements recorded under Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s administration.

The statement further disclosed that the defectors were drawn from 10 wards in Gwarzo Local Government Area, as well as neighbouring local governments.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Malam Bala Ladani said their choice was driven by Governor Yusuf’s dedication to people-oriented leadership.

He pledged their loyalty to the NNPP and assured the Deputy Governor of their readiness to work for the party’s success at all levels.

Addressing the new members, Gwarzo encouraged them to remain steadfast and committed to the ideals of the NNPP, assuring that their contributions would strengthen the party’s grassroots structure.

He urged them to see their defection not just as a political move, but as a collective effort to bring positive change to the people of Kano State.

Also speaking, the NNPP leader in Gwarzo Local Government, Alhaji Abdulkadir Getso, noted that more defectors were expected to join the party soon, adding that several prominent figures are already in talks with stakeholders to cross over to the NNPP.

In his remarks, the Chairman of Gwarzo Local Government, Dr. Mani Tsoho, assured the new members that they would be fully integrated and treated equally with other members of the party.

He commended party stakeholders for their tireless efforts in attracting new members and expressed confidence that the NNPP will continue to record resounding victories.
