A 100-level student of the Taraba State University (TSU) Comfort Jimtop Oliver, has deed at her boyfriend’s house in Jalingo.
The Mass Communication student was discovered lifeless in the room located at Bakasi area of Jalingo, near Dr. Rapha’s quarters, opposite the Vice-Chancellor’s gate on Friday, September 12, 2025.
Comfort, an indigene of Takum Local Government Area, was identified as a member of the Kuteb ethnic group.
The circumstances surrounding her death remain unclear at the time of filing this report but it was gathered that authorities have commenced investigations to uncover the cause.

Police sources confirmed that preliminary findings are underway.

A senior police officer, who is among the team conducting investigation into the matter, said that empty bottles of hard drinks were found beside the bed where she d!ed.
“By the time the matter was reported to our station which is located at the gate of the university, on our arrival, nobody was found in the house which has over 15 tenants. The owner of the room, who is believed to be the boyfriend of the deceased was not also found and is at large,” the officer said on condition of anonymity.
“We found empty bottles of hard drinks beside the bed where she died, we are currently undergoing investigation into the incident.”
