News Update
THE suspect accused of killing conservative activist Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University has been identified as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson.
Authorities confirmed his name after he was arrested in Washington County, Utah, following a tip from a family friend who contacted law enforcement.
Investigators explained that Robinson was linked to the attack through surveillance footage, messages recovered from his online accounts, and forensic evidence gathered at the scene.
He allegedly confessed to a family member before fleeing the campus.
His car was later traced from the university back to his hometown in southern Utah.
Officials also disclosed that bullet casings found at the scene carried unusual inscriptions.
A rifle believed to have been used in the attack was discovered wrapped in a towel.
Robinson is now being held at the Utah County jail as prosecutors prepare formal charges expected to be filed next week.
The FBI and Utah state officials said the swift arrest was made possible through cooperation between law enforcement agencies and information shared by Robinson’s own family.
