OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT TINUBU: Observers Call For Recall of Ondo NDDC Commissioner, Otito Atikase Over Mismanagement

OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU

From: Coalition of Concerned Observers for Accountability and Transparency in Governance

Subject: Urgent Demand for the Recall of Mr. Otito Atikase, Ondo State NDDC Commissioner, Over Mismanagement

Mr. President,

We, the undersigned representatives of the Coalition of Concerned Observers for Accountability and Transparency in Governance, write to you with grave concern regarding the Commissioner representing Ondo State in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Mr. Otito Atikase.

Our monitoring and feedback from the affected communities reveal a clear failure of leadership and accountability. Since assuming office, Mr. Atikase has not recorded any tangible achievements for his constituency. The people of Ondo State have continued to face neglect in critical areas of development despite the availability of NDDC resources.

Equally troubling are consistent reports indicating that public resources meant for community development have been diverted for personal gain. Such actions represent a betrayal of public trust and stand in sharp contrast to the values of transparency, responsibility, and service delivery that your administration promotes.

Mr. President, this situation threatens not only the welfare of the people of Ondo State but also the integrity of the NDDC as an interventionist agency. Allowing this to continue would further erode public confidence in governance and diminish the credibility of the APC-led government.

In the interest of accountability and in defense of the people, we therefore respectfully demand that you recall Mr. Otito Atikase without delay. Doing so will:

1. Protect the interests of the underserved communities in Ondo State.

2. Safeguard the integrity of the Niger Delta Development Commission.

3. Reinforce your administration’s unwavering commitment to transparency, accountability, and good governance.

Mr. President, your decisive action at this moment will serve as a clear message that mismanagement of public resources will never be tolerated under your leadership, and that the welfare of the people remains paramount.

Respectfully,

Coalition of Concerned Observers for Accountability and Transparency in Governance
