Tragedy as Nigerian Football Club Assistant Coach Dies During training

News Update

Tragedy struck the Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan on Monday morning as newly appointed assistant coach, Akin Olowokere, collapsed and died during a training session.

Eyewitnesses told Journalist that Olowokere slumped on the pitch while the Oluyole Warriors were engaged in their morning drills.

He was immediately attended to by medical staff and rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was confirmed dead.

The cause of death has not yet been officially disclosed.

Olowokere, a former Sunshine Stars of Akure defender, had only recently been unveiled as part of the new 3SC technical crew following the exit of Gbenga Ogunbote and his coaching staff.

He had previously served as an assistant coach at Sunshine Stars under head coach Edith Agoye.

The soft-spoken tactician was well known in Nigerian football circles for his years of service as a player and later as a coach.
