Bankole Akinselure Foundation Offers Scholarship, Cash To Star Athlete, Sunday Precious

Bankole Akinselure Foundation has recently offered the pupil of St. Peter’s CAC Primary School, Alade Idanre, Miss Sunday Precious, who did Ondo State proud in the recently athletic competition held in Lagos, Nigeria scholarship award and Seventy thousand Naira raw cash gift .

During the event held in the premises of the school and witnessed by the Headmistress of the school, Mrs Akinkuade F. B., staffs of the school and representatives of Bankole Akinselure Foundation led by Hon. Oluwande Akindojutimi “Wandroz” who read the speech of the founder of the foundation, Hon. Bankole Akinselure who said that the foundation had come to celebrate Miss Sunday Precious for excelling in the athletic world where she did both Idanre and Ondo State proud despite the inadequate sport facilities available in this area. Hon. Bankole Akinselure pledged that the foundation will continue to encourage pupils and students with outstanding performances from time to time. He enjoined the pupils not to bury their talents or any gift that God gave unto them as, though academic laurels are good other talents, especially in sports are also very valuable in contemporary times.

The school administration led by Mrs Akinkuade F. got his appreciation too as he thanked them for taking the pain to discover, train and expose the athlete to where she has become a source of pride and joy to everybody.

Hon. Oluwande Akindojutimi then presented the Certificate of the Scholarship Award that will cover all she will need till she finishes her Primary School education. He also presented a cash gift of Seventy thousand Naira only (#70,000.00).

Dr. Akinmolafe Abiodun, who has been monitoring and overseeing the athletic progress of the star, Miss Sunday Precious, thanked the foundation for the gesture which he saw as highly commendable. He thanked the teachers of the school for facilitating the progress of the girl and encouraging her selflessly despite the tough sporting environment the school is. He charged the pupil not to relent but should be training regularly so that she can improve upon her present performances as there are greater laurels ahead in future.

Mrs Akinkuade F. has expressed her gratitude to the Bankole Akinselure foundation for deeming it fit to encourage the beneficiary, Miss Sunday Precious, with such incentives. She prayed God will continue to prosper all the members of the foundation, both at home and abroad.

Mr. Agbelusi Ganiyu thanked the foundation members, especially its founder, Hon. Bankole Akinselure for his kindhearted and sport like gesture and prayed God will continue to prosper all the members. The retired Headmaster and Journalist called on well to do people of Idanre to emulate the good gesture of Hon. Bankole Akinselure by helping to encourage budding stars that will end up doing Idanre proud while he commended the teachers for their diligence and dedication to duty which led to the discovery of such talent in their school and he prayed God rewards them abundantly. He charged the mother of the beneficiary, Mrs Sunday, to give her opportunity to train regularly and also monitor her properly as a girl-child.

Speaking with Idanre Media Services shortly after the programme, Mrs Sunday, Precious’s mother, thanked Bankole Akinselure foundation, the school authority and Dr. Akinmolafe Abiodun who has been helping to take proper care of her daughter. She promised not disturb her from training regularly as requested.

It can be recalled that Bankole Akinselure had been giving scholarships and other impetus to learners in various categories in the past with education seen as the core foundation on which it builds his philanthropic activities.
