Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has approved the creation of a new Ministry of Information and appointed two new commissioners in a minor cabinet reshuffle.
The Ministry of Information had been scrapped by the previous administration led by Nasir El-Rufai.
The changes were announced on Wednesday through a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibraheem Musa.
The new appointments include Prof. Abubakar Sani Sambo, who is now the Commissioner for Education, and Barrister Gloria Ibrahim, who will lead the Ministry of Youth Development.
The former Commissioner of Education, Prof. Sani Bello, also known as Mainan Zazzau, has been moved to head the newly established Ministry of Information.
The Ministry of Information had been scrapped by the previous administration led by Nasir El-Rufai.
Governor Sani’s move to reintroduce it marks a return of a communication-focused ministry in the state’s executive structure.
Prof. Sambo, now in charge of the Education Ministry, is a respected academic with years of experience in university leadership and energy management.
He once served as Vice Chancellor at both Kaduna State University and Bauchi State University. He also held roles at Usmanu Dan Fodio University, Sokoto, and headed the Energy Commission of Nigeria for several years.
His background includes working with both local and international committees focused on energy and education.
Barrister Gloria Ibrahim, the new Youth Development Commissioner, is a lawyer and mediator who has worked in legal practice for years.
She has been involved in several professional bodies dealing with law, child rights, and conflict resolution.
