As part of global activities marking the 2025 World Day for Safety and Health at Work, the Lagos State Safety Commission has announced plans to host a strategic conference focused on enhancing workplace safety in the face of rapid technological advancement.
Themed “Navigating Technology Advancement for a Safer, Healthier & Sustainable Workplace,” the conference will convene stakeholders from both the public and private sectors to address emerging safety challenges in a digitised economy.
The event aims to foster dialogue around innovative safety practices, the deployment of digital tools, and the formulation of policies designed to reduce occupational hazards and prevent accidents.
The Commission noted that the initiative is in line with its broader goal of building a resilient safety culture across Lagos State.
Through the integration of smart technologies, the conference will highlight ways to create safer work environments and protect the well-being of workers and the general public.
Director-General of the Lagos State Safety Commission, Mr. Lanre Mojola, reaffirmed the state’s commitment to proactive safety governance.
“Our goal is to ensure that every resident of Lagos can live and work in a safe and secure environment. We are leveraging technology and collaboration to move closer to our vision of a zero-accident state,” he said.
The event will also feature exhibitions, expert-led sessions, and policy discussions aimed at enhancing the state’s capacity to manage workplace risks and improve health outcomes.
The World Day for Safety and Health at Work is observed annually on April 28 to promote the prevention of occupational accidents and diseases globally.
