JUST IN: Bandit kingpin ‘Malam’ killed in Katsina military strike

Troops of Operation Fansan Yanma have successfully neutralized five feared bandits, including the infamous bandit kingpin known only as “Malam.”

The operation, which unfolded along the Kandamba-Faskari Road, marks a significant victory in the ongoing battle against armed bandits terrorizing Katsina State.

Sources told Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency experts that the operation was the result of intense intelligence work and lasted for a week, culminating in a fierce clash with the terrorists.

As the bandits were forced to flee, they hastily buried five of their fallen comrades before disappearing into the bush, leaving behind several victims who had suffered severe injuries.

However, the determined troops did not relent. A relentless pursuit soon led them to a shallow grave, where the bodies of the slain bandits were discovered. Among them was Malam, one of the most feared and wanted bandit leaders in the region.

For years, Malam’s group had ravaged the Sabuwa, Dandume, Funtua, and Faskari Local Government Areas, wreaking havoc through kidnappings, cattle rustling, and violent attacks on innocent communities.

The operation is far from over. Troops are currently sweeping the area in search of any remaining members of the ruthless gang.

The success of this mission marks a crucial blow to banditry in the region and offers hope for the restoration of peace to the terrorized communities.
