A 33-year-old engineer, Sunday Adigun, was on Tuesday docked in an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court Ibadan for allegedly stealing CCTV and digital video recorder.
Adigun, who was charged with alleged stealing and conduct likely to cause the breach of peace, pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, Insp Femi Omilana, told the court that the defendant committed the offences sometimes in January, 2024, at Elebu area of Ibadan.
Omilana alleged that the defendant stole digital video recorder worth N1.2 million and 12 pieces of CCTV camera worth N220,000, belonging to the complainant, Mr Olatokunbo Okunola.
He alleged that the complainant gave him the CCTV camera and recorder to repair but he made away with them.
He said he conducted himself in a manner likely to cause the breach of peace and therefore committed offences contrary to Sections 390(9) and 249(d) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The presiding Magistrate, Mrs Adebola Adeola, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N1.5 million and two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case until May 9, for hearing.
