Supreme Court Declares Rivers Council Election Invalid

THE Supreme Court has declared the local government election conducted on 5th of October, 2024 invalid.

VAM News reports that the Supreme Court gave the judgement on Friday. This is one of the many judgements given by the Supreme Court on many cases concerning Rivers State.

In another judgement, the apex court also recognized Martins Amaewhule as the Speaker of Rivers State House of Assembly.

The Court also ordered Accountant-General, Lateef Fagbemi, to seize all funds and allocations to Rivers state until Governor Siminalaya Fubara presents budgets to the Amaewhule-led House of Assembly.
