SUBEB has reacted to the opposition’s claims about the decaying state of education in Osun State, tagged it as misleading and unsubstantiated.
In the statement released on Monday by Hon Alesinloye Kamoru, S.A to the SUBEB chairman, said in reality, the current administration has made significant strides in improving education in the state.
“Within just two years, the administration has committed more resources to education than the previous administration did in four years. The past administration’s failure to provide counterpart funding for two years led to dilapidated school conditions, lack of teacher training, and inadequate educational materials.”
“In contrast, the current administration has taken proactive steps to address these issues. Despite financial constraints, the governor has provided funds to access grants and cover the inadequacies of the previous administration. This has resulted in the construction of 77 new schools and the renovation of 78 others to modern standards. Moreover, the administration has provided over 10,000 furnitures for students and teachers, and has established a database for schools, equipping them with computers, these efforts have led to improved student performance, with osun state students now competing and excelling in sports, debates and quiz competitions.”
“Moreover, students in Osun State are now competing and excelling in sports, debates, and quizzes competitions. These achievements demonstrate that education in Osun State is indeed better now than it was during the previous administration.”
