In a heartwarming initiative to spread joy and goodwill this festive season, Princess Adetoun Agboola, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Education and Social Inclusion, embarked on a compassionate mission to support the elderly men, women, and widows in Ijero Ekiti.
Accompanied by Hon. Bimpe Adeleke, Adviser on Women Affairs in Ijero Local Government, Princess Adetoun demonstrated her genuine commitment to connecting with her community by visiting each recipient in their various homes and delivering food items and cash gifts directly to them at their doorsteps. The initiative aimed not only to provide support for those in need but also to foster a sense of inclusion and love for the elderly during the festive season.
Witnessing the smiles on the faces of the beneficiaries, Adetoun emphasized the importance of community support. She noted that such initiatives help alleviate feelings of loneliness and despair, especially during the yuletide. She further expressed that taking care of our elders is a collective responsibility, and the least everyone could do is extend small acts of kindness to them, as this can make a significant difference in their lives.
The distribution of food items and cash gifts was met with heartfelt gratitude from the recipients, who expressed appreciation for the thoughtfulness and generosity shown by Princess Adetoun. They took turns praying for the continued success of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji and for the prosperity of Ekiti State as a whole.
As the festive season continues, Princess Adetoun’s gesture serves as a call to action in order to encourage others to engage in similar acts of kindness and extend their hands to those in need within the community.
