Boko Haram Renewed Fatwa On Their Perceived Enemies

A breakaway Islamic Terrorist group headed by a notorious leader known as Turji Bello, who has been declared wanted by the Nigerian Military for some time now, had renewed the fatwa previously declared against a southern cleric, Evangelist Falade and others.

This Islamic group has renewed the Fatwas on a popular Southern Evangelist and his entire family and other Southern pastors.

Evangelist Falade Peter was accused of illegal Christianization of Bornu State. Information reaching us through one of our reporters at the time of this report was that the Evangelist’s father and mother had been reported missing for almost five years now. Kehinde, the Evangelist’s daughter believes to be living in Benin Republic but is yet to be located.

The news broke after the deadly attack by the terror group on a crusade ground organized by the Evangelist’s church some years back.

This Militant group, working in concert with Fulani herders, is actively fighting to overthrow the governments of the northern states of Nigeria to create Islamic states where the Sharia law will be imposed.

The vicious attack on the Christian crusade in Biu, Bornu State, where scores of people were killed, many others wounded and kidnapped, and many atrocities committed on the Nigerian populace by this terror group in recent years.

Boko Haram and its splinter faction, Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP), have continued to attack civilians, communities/villages, and humanitarian and Military formations this year, reportedly killing at least 350 civilians in the first half of this year (2024) alone. It is increasingly challenging to protect civilians, even in government-controlled areas. In June, three rockets-propelled explosives fired from outside Maiduguri killed six people and injured seven others in the city, an area previously considered relatively safe, given the strong presence of the Nigerian Army.

Evangelist Peter Falade and Wife

Our reporter spoke with one of the residents, who refused to disclose his name for security reasons and spoke in the local dialect. He said that Evangelist Falade Peter had a fatwa on his head and that of his immediate family members as he shouted that the fatwa must be carried out.

The person further said that the group accused the Evangelist and his entire family of Christianization in Biu and Borno State.

He said they dropped leaflets in and around the neighbouring states as well as Ondo and Ekiti states, pronouncing the fatwa on the man of God and arguing that any jihadist must carry out the order. Further investigation by our reporter revealed that once a fatwa is placed on someone’s head, the person must pay a supreme price.

According to another prominent Islamic scholar who preferred to remain anonymous, placing a fatwa on someone’s head is like calling for Jihad, which must be forcefully executed.

Busayo Falake, the second son of the Evangelist, believed to be living in Canada

He, however, advised that Evangelist Peter Falade and his family should remain incommunicado until the security situation improves in Nigeria.
