Wike: ‘If Tinubu Sees This, I Will Lose My Job’

News Update

THE Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has ordered the immediate reconstruction of public schools in Kabusa, Abuja, saying he would lose his job if President Bola Tinubu witnessed their condition.

Speaking during the flag-off of the 9.8km Kabusa–Takushara road rehabilitation, Wike described the schools as unsuitable for learning.

He stressed the urgent need to upgrade the facilities, announcing that the renovation would be treated as an emergency.

He noted that the country’s resources should ensure better living and learning conditions for citizens, particularly children, and urged Nigerians to support ongoing government efforts to improve infrastructure and public services.

In his words, “They said this is a school, is it not? Is it a school?

“My brother I no go lie, I will not accept this as a school for our people to have quality education and therefore, there will be immediate upgrading of this school to be what a school is supposed to be.

“I’m sure if Mr President comes here and sees that this is the school our children are learning [in], I will lose my job. And I don’t want to lose my job and therefore, this school we are going to make it to be happy to be what a proper school is supposed to be and under emergency, we must put the school back to what a school is supposed to be.”
