Ondo LG Election: Female RUGIPO Graduate, Racheal Joins Councillorship Race In Idanre, Identifies With APC

As Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC) prepares to organise local government election in the state, January 18th, 2025, a graduate of RUGIPO, Ms Racheal Oluwabunmi Akinro, of Irowo ward in Idanre Local Government Area of Ondo state has declared her intention to contest for councillorship position under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Below is the declaration speech sent to this newspaper unedited;

RACHEAL OLUWABUNMI AKINRO’s DECLARATION OF INTENT FOR IROWO WARD COUNCILLORSHIP SEAT IN IDANRE LOCAL GOVERNMENT, ONDO STATE.

I, RACHEAL OLUWABUNMI AKINRO hereby express my profound gratitude and appreciation to Almighty God for sparing our lives to witness this great period of another electioneering process.

I thank all members of Executive, Stakeholders, Leaders and Members of our great party, The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Irowo ward, Idanre local government and Ondo state.

Distinguished Ladies And Gentlemen, my aspiration to run for the January 18th, 2025 Councillorship Election under the platform of ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS (APC), is for the love and good intentions all of us have for our community and using different approaches, that is however the beauty of democracy and respect for equal participation in governance and grassroot development, with a legacy of commitment to service, I will endeavor to lead my team to do the best to deliver good legislative progress and development of our hometown right from my ward when you accord me the party nomination and opportunity to serve you as your Councillor.

My People, once the electoral process has been finalized and my aspiration is certified, I shall be mapping out the path that we shall be treading on in our desire to move IROWO to the kind of positive change and development it deserves.

Distinguished leaders of our party, as we search for our party flag bearers, let us scout for competent, visionary leadership and gender inclusive that will bring a robust quality representation to our ward.

I implore my party faithfuls and Stakeholders at all levels to accord more preference to women in politics and be sensitive to gender balance.

Lastly, I hereby call on the party to give women opportunities to participate and also extend hands of solidarity for a politics of all-inclusive in attaining their goals to contribute to the development and growth of the community.
