Famuyibo Inaugurates 4th Assembly of YAN Katsina

…As National Secretariat Relocates to Katsina State

THE National Speaker of the Youth Assembly of Nigeria (YAN), Rt. Hon. Famuyibo Oluwasegun, officially inaugurated the 4th Assembly of YAN Katsina State at the Bello Kofar Bai Hall, Katsina State Secretariat, on Thursday 21st November, 2024.

This coincided with the relocation of the organization’s National Secretariat to Katsina State. The move is part of YAN’s leadership Thank You visit initiative, aimed at fostering deeper engagement with local youth assemblies and strengthening youth involvement across the nation.

The inauguration event saw the presence of notable representatives, including:

– Rt. Hon. Umaru Bala Babayaro – National Deputy Speaker
– Amb. Lawal Mohammed – Ambassador, Zamfara State
– Ambassadors from Adamawa and Kano States
– YAN Speaker and Clerk from Zamfara State
– Hon. Sanusi Sarki – Director of Legislative Affairs
– Key members of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) from Zamfara State, among others.

Famuyibo Inaugurates 4th Assembly of YAN Katsina

During the ceremony, National Speaker Famuyibo commended the unity and exemplary conduct of youth structures in Katsina State, highlighting their integral role in fostering peace and stability within the region. He expressed appreciation for the Government of Katsina State, led by His Excellency Dr. Dikko Umar Radda, for its instrumental support in youth development.

In his address, the National Speaker made a heartfelt appeal to the state government for additional support, specifically requesting:

1. The provision of a befitting secretariat through the Ministry of Youth Affairs.
2. The allocation of an 18-seater bus to facilitate the organization’s operational needs.

Additionally, Speaker Famuyibo extended his gratitude to Amb. Mohammed Bello Dabai, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BOT) in Katsina State, and all BOT members, urging them to ensure effective oversight of YAN’s activities in accordance with the organization’s constitution.

Concluding his remarks, he thanked all attendees for their warm reception and wished everyone a safe journey back to their respective destinations.
