Osun state Family Planning Stakeholders have Counselled the public that a good counseling is the backbone of family planning.

Media Round Table Meeting With Family Planning stakeholders Osun state chapter held at DC hotel, Osogbo on Friday, October 11th, 2024.
The programme was organised by The Challenge Initiatives Nigeria (TCI) a Non-governmental organisation in collaboration with Development Communications Network (DEVCOMS), also a Non-governmental organisation, In her presentation, the state Family Planning Coordinator, Mrs Ololade Margaret reminds the FP media team of what FP is entails and itemized the need for a good counselling for the public.
Speaking on the debunking Myth: Addressing Clients Misconceptions in FP explained on too close for giving birth to baby every year without interval, Too early for 18-years old to carry pregnancy, Too many for more than Four birth and Too late at the age of 35-years for pregnancies, which resulted to many unsafe ways of abortion, and the use of condoms for male, female..
She said the goal must be to make every pregnancy wanted, and planned for.
On the Barriers to use of modern FP methods which includes knowledge, lack of access, Myth and misconceptions gender and socio cultural Norms, lack of awareness is the keys area where the media are needed to address the myth and misconceptions in changing the beliefs norms against FP by providing accurate and evidenced based information.
Addressing misconceptions around FP is crucial for increasing acceptance and use of of modern contraceptives methods
In his welcome remarks, The Challenge Initiative TCI, Mr Tubosun Olabomi appreciated the FP media team for their support towards promoting the family planning in the state and Advocated for more awareness.
In his message to FP media team during the meeting, TCI Mr Oluwafunsho Daniel said the aims and objectives of TCI in the state is to strengthen the health of the people in the state.
Expected to look out for information like success stories about FP and looking for those who have negatives news about the FP in such a way to correct the beliefs and misconception towards FP.

Mr Oluwafunsho encouraged media team to always look for ways in helping youths on life planning methods.
