‘Misplaced Priority’ – Rivers APC Faults Fubara’s Vehicles Donation To Police

Voice Air Media, News Update

THE Rivers State All Progressives Congress, (APC) has criticized the procurement of 100 vehicles for the State Police Command by the Siminalayi Fubara-led government.

Tony Okocha, the APC Caretaker Chairman in a statement on Wednesday, described the donation as a misplaced priority.

He said there are more pressing needs of the State at this point than the procurement and donations of vehicles to security agencies.

“What is most absurd to know is that whilst Rivers State people are complaining of excruciating hunger, (even those Governor Fubara sponsored recently to stage a protracted protest in Rivers State, intended to embarrass President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, didn’t prevaricate in informing the Governor that hunger is real).” Okocha said.

“The rudderless Governor didn’t see need to heed to our counsels pro-bono and those of well-meaning Rivers stakeholders, to mirror what other State Governors are doing in their respective States at this critical time in history.

“Such infrastructural and human development projects/programmes as we read in States like Niger, Akwa/Ibom, Taraba, Lagos, etc, intended to alleviate and cushion the effects of hunger and the concomitant aftermaths, do not make sense to Governor Fubara.
