Barely three weeks to the Edo guber election, three governorship candidates have withdrawn from the race to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) flagbearer, Monday Okpebholo.
According to report, the candidates who spoke at a conference in Benin city said they are sacrificing their ambitions for APC’s candidate, Okpebholo because of his vision and charisma, asserting that he is best suited to drive development in the state.
Aside from the candidates, chairmen from five political parties have also publicly endorsed the APC candidate.
The endorsing candidates are Zenith Labour Party’s Bishop Akhalameh, Ugiagbe Sylvester of the Allied Peoples Movement, APM and Akhimie Kingson of the Action Democratic Party (ADP).
The five parties now supporting Okpebholo’s Governorship bid are NRM, ADP, SDP, ZLP and APM.
