OSUN CSDA Delivers 267 Micro Projects Including Funding, Centres For PWDs in Osun Communities

Over 267 micro projects have been funded and are functional across the state including that for PWDs by Osun State Community and Social Development Agency, (Osun CSDA) with the support of the State government.

This was disclosed by Funmi Aderonke Abokede, the General Manager, Osun Community and Social Development Agency, Osun CSDA, during a stakeholders workshop on performance for result, PforR on Osun-CARES project on Wednesday day in Osogbo.

Abokede in her presentation titled; “The roles of stakeholders in PforR”, also revealed that Osun State is the only state in Nigeria that has dedicated funding and centres for Persons With Disabilities, PWDs.

She hinted that the stakeholders meeting is an avenue to call on journalists to help in spreading information appropriately.

The GM said such information is intended at educating and informing the communities across all the agencies.

She added that there is need for media persons to interact with beneficiaries of intervention projects to get their own side of the story.

“These include informing, educating and advancing knowledge on sustainability of projects.”

While noting that Nigeria has been tagged the poverty headquarters by some international institutions, she said it is dimensional depending on how it affects an individual.

In her words, “Poverty is a multidimensional concept. It may be social, economic and lack of capability.

“The agency focuses on social poverty. About lacking social amenities lacking in the urban ant risk areas.”

She also revealed that in the state, many communities were experiencing lots of challenges.

“Many communities are going through a lot. Many of these communities do not have water.

“We also need to advance knowledge of the project on the people and how they can afford funding without asking into wrong hands.”

Akin Ogunsakin, the Finance and Accounts Manager, Osun CSDA, spoke on Programme for Result, PforR and Kenneth Akinwande, the Operations Manager spoke on social, environmental and grievance issues in PforR.

Other speakers include; Bashir Adeyemi, the Monitoring and Evaluation Manager spoke on generating beneficiary lists and its importance and Joel Adedokun, Admin and Supplies Manager who spoke on project maintenance and sustainability.
