…As leadership reflects on past, present and future prospects
The Osogbo Development Action Group held its decade long anniversary in Osogbo today, 3rd August 2024 marking exactly 10 years of the group’s formation.
(ODAG), an Osogbo youth group whose objectives are to advance the interests and developmental drives of Osogbo, used the occasion to reflect on its past, present and future prospects towards consolidation of its actions and strides in community service and personal development.
This was contained in a press release at the end of the 10th Anniversary and signed by the group’s Coordinator, Ajani Lukman of Layiokun Compound and Secretary, Suhaib Oladejo of Aisado Compound.
The Coordinator led the group in review of the great impacts the group has made in the affairs of Osogbo within the last ten years and urged the members of the group to rejig their commitments towards the activities of the group, maintaining that two heads are always better than one, and a tree does not make a forest, in order to achieve greater heights.
Other speakers at the well attended anniversary included the the pioneer Coordinator of the group, Ghasali Daud Oladimeji and Pioneer Secretary Badru Asimiyu Olawale, as well as other past and present leaders of the group which included Babatunde Waheed Adekunle, Onibonokuta Abdullahi Kehinde, Prince Oyetunji Tijani Oyedeji, Jimoh Mukthar Ajelogbon, Olaitan Asimiyu, Amusat Asimiyu, Babatunde Salawudeen, Baderinwa Muideen Adeyemi, among others.
The group, at the anniversary program, also remembered its former legal adviser, Late Barrister Kazim Badmus as well as Late Barrister Muftau Adediran, both of whom were highly resourceful pro-bono in the courses of the group and Osogbo as a whole. The group prayed for the repose of their souls and urged the Osogbo Community to always remember their families and offer hands of fellowship to them.
The anniversary also witnessed presentation of certificates of special recognition to five members of the group for their various roles in the life of the group.
At the end of the anniversary program, the members paid an anniversary visit to the Ataoja of Osogbo land, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun Larooye II, in his palace, who took out time to celebrate with the group, eulogized the members on its activities, encouraged them to remain steadfast and prayed fervently for the success of the members, ODAG and Osogbo as a whole.
