Nigeria bars admissions for under 18 citizens, residents

THE federal government has stated that only candidates that are up to 18 years will gain admission in the 2024/2025 academic year.

The Minster of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman stated this in his welcome address during 2024 Policy meeting on Admissions into Tertiary Institutions/NELFUND Half Hour Briefing on Thursday.

Mamman whose declaration met with loud mumuring by the audience, urged anyone who dissatisfied with the decision which he said is within the law, to go to the National Assembly and asks for amendment of the law.

“If you want the child to start from four, you an go back to the National Assembly and amend it,” he said.
